Health Care Reform Cons...

squashed.tumblr.com has discussed some cons of health care reform. Particularly dealing with taxes and tax spending. When compared to the yearly cost of the Iraqi War, which is around 100 billion dollars, that is about how much it will cost to run the first ten years of the social health care system. The proposed bill may increase health insurance cost. This is dependent on whether improvements in efficiency and competition might be offset by the cost of providing more benefits. People will be forced to buy health insurance or pay an extra 2% tax. The insurance will be subsidized, but it may not be enough. Lastly, people with really high incomes, more than $500,000 a year, will have to pay an additional 1% tax.
